Who dictates who I am and ain't
I can't debate the plan to stay complacent in my stance
I take a stand for those who can't today
And they try to cancel us but cancel cultures cancerous
When kneeling for the anthem's worse than kneeling on a man it's just
Very indicating scary and infuriating
Fear and hating taking over making people kinda crazy
But that's reality blinded by their salary
Then couldn't give a flying fuck about the **** burning calories
Running in the streets and gunned down for being too black
Sleeping in the bed
No why you do that?!
Hanging from the poplar tree saying it's a suicide
Got me locking doors and trying to keep my black ass inside
I just think the point is being overlooked
The black experience isn't written down in your college books
Got me shook feel I'm living on time that's being borrowed
If I was a hashtag would you still say my name tomorrow?
(Coppertone boy) Please don't cry
(Coppertone boy) It's gonna be alright
(Coppertone boy) You got to get through
(Coppertone boy) I am you
(Coppertone boy) Please don't cry
(Coppertone boy) It's gonna be alright
(Coppertone boy) You got to get through
(Coppertone boy) I am you
