I'm staring at this wall again
I think I made a lifeless friend
Waiting for the world to end
Drinking wine late at night again.
I tore right through those TV shows
A dozen films I'm supposed to know
Only half of those stood the test of time
But who am I to judge, always wasting mine?
I started writing plays again
Halfway through I quit again
I think I'll sing and smoke instead
It makes be feel alive when I'm barely living.
I'm staring at this wall again
They've kind of been a lifelong friend
Stuck inside and wondering
What the future holds when I'm free again.
I started losing sleep again
Thinking up a million plans
I'll never do or lift a hand
At least I got the stars twinklin' up ahead.
Yeah, I guess it's true
I'm just getting through
The only way I always have.
Yeah, I'm feeling bad
But I always have
And every time I've seen
Every time I've seen some better days.
I'm staring at this wall again
Projecting my whole life ahead
Feeling like a better man
Knowin' better days are in my head.
I'm turning off those TV shows
I'm turning on to write my own
I'll sing and smoke until I know
The world is waking up, and I got some place to go.
The world is waking up, and I got some place to go.
I'm staring this wall again.
Nice to see my lifeless friend
Waiting for the world to end
All over, and over, all over again.
