Die Punk-Popgruppe Simple Plan, die in Montreal ansässig ist, erblickte im Jahr 1999 das Licht der Welt. Der rohe, mutige und energiegeladene Punksound der Band, der sich wie Cheap Trick anfühlt, aber so rau wie Pennywise ist, führte zum hitzig witzigen No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls, das im Frühjahr 2003 bei Lava herauskam. Das von Bob Rock produzierte zweite Album Still Not Getting Any... erschien ein Jahr später und enthielt die Hits "Crazy" und "Welcome to My Life." 2005 gab Simple Plan Live from the Hard Rock heraus. Simple Plan ging im Juni 2007 ins Studio zurück, um an ihrem dritten Album, dem selbst betitelten Simple Plan zu arbeiten, das im Februar 2008 veröffentlicht wurde. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
