• Die 1979 geborene Norah Jones entstammt einem musikalischen Haushalt: Ihr Vater war Ravi Shankar, der indische Sitar-Meister, der die Beatles maßgeblich beeinflusste.
• Ab ihrem 15. Lebensjahr besuchte sie die Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Alumni dieser Kreativschmiede: Erykah Badu, Edie Brickell und Roy Hargrove.
• 2001 unterschrieb sie beim legendären Jazz-Label Blue Note Records – und erhielt für die Lieder ihres am American Songbook und an Jazz-Ikonen wie Billie Holiday geschulten Debüt „Come Away With Me“ ganze acht GRAMMYs.
