My friend invited me

And asked if I could sing at her party

It was late at night and I was young

I told my mom I won't take long

They handed me the microphone

and guided me with a tone

I sung the words I read on screen

Then closed my eyes so I can feel

It was then, when I first heard

"You've got a beautiful voice young girl"

Words coming from a stranger

Made me feel the world's much better

Oh that voice took me to the stage

But then it made me be afraid

I didn't wanna fail

So I closed my eyes to pray

It took me 8 tries to say I'm tired

Circumstances pulled me to another life

But my heart kept calling me

It said "go back to the music scene"

It took a few songs, till I got signed

worked day and night, was I still align

To that purpose I've been looking for

I realized I can't ask for more

I lost a few friends a trusted most

A mentor who guided me through the worst

It's time to take this path alone

And find the song that I can own

The people that we met

the days we won't regret
