Lyrics
[Verse 1]
"Imagine" was inspired by Yoko's input
There's a lot of pieces in it saying
I can imagine this, or imagine that
If you look, if you get a copy and you look through it and you see
Where the lyrics were by her
And I know she helped on a lot of the lyrics
But I wasn't "man enough" to let her have credit for it
So that song was actually written by John and Yoko
But I was still selfish enough
Un, unaware to
Just sort of take her contribution without acknowledging it
Because I was still full of wanting my own space
After being in the room with four guys
Always having to share everything
Y'know share shirts, share the same dry cleaner, the same everything
And the song itself, expresses um
What I'd learned from being with Yoko and my own feelings on it
I've just seen the words of "Imagine" which are very, very good
Oh good, I'm glad you liked it
Very, very good (You should see all the other lyrics, too)
Well I'll play them all in about an hour (Just lovely)
Just goes "Imagine there's no heaven..."
Do do do do
It's easy if you try
Do do
No hell below us
Do do
No one in the sky, imagine all the people
Living for today, yeah
You'll hear the record (Lovely)
I'm on piano for this, so someone should be on another keyboard
Yeah, what's the one, a ballad?
Yeah, come on, I'll teach you
[Verse 2]
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world, yoo hoo
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday, you'll join us
And the world will be as one
[Verse 3]
That's a nice one
Yeah, that's the one I like best
I hope there's another piano, because if he can, the same kind of piano
An octave higher or something, it'd be beautiful
Well, we can always use this
(Instead of electric) We could do it on one
It's a delicate song
You can do it on the top half of the piano, maybe
Yeah
That's it (Yeah)
Well I'll go on the white one, 'cause that's what I wanted to do, use that one
Yeah, heh heh heh
That's the best I think
So
Imagine there is no heaven
Yoko, why don't you go in there and listen for a bit?
Yeah, right right
Okay, let's go then
Wish they'd told us before
(John, there's someone on the phone for ya)
Who?
I don't talk to somebody, heh heh
Might be somebody
(There's some wine in the kitchen)
Can you put something through on the earphones?
What?
Some of the electric piano in the earphones
Yeah, there's none
That's better
How's that?
[Verse 4]
Imagine all the people
Living for today, ah ha, aah
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Yoo hoo, ooh
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday, you'll join us
And the world will be as one
[Verse 5]
(John, you think you can draw out that ending?)
(And the world, it really gets lost)
If you could what?
Do what?
(If you could just slow it down somewhat)
[Verse 6]
I hope someday, you'll join us
And the world will live as one
[Verse 7]
(Yeah, right there)
Well, what's together?
(Y'know, like the drum and bass)
We'll just do it this...
Just do it the same and just
What?
Just do it the same, and like, just feel it like
Maybe we can figure it out
[Verse 8]
I hope someday, you'll join us
And the world will live as one
