What's Going On?

I used to be a lonely boy

My years of contradiction

I was so tired of that fear

It was hard to find a reason a

And keep me out of leaving that life,

So, I held on to my strings

Then I felt like moving so fast

Faster that the train and the light

I fell down, got up and punched in the eye

Abandoned like a thousand times

But here we go

Somebody told me: “you gotta learn to fight on your own

If you can’t see the light, just raise your wings and fly.”

Can anybody find me something to believe in tonight?

If you take it all, you won’t understand

Sometimes, you gotta close your eyes to see what’s going on

I tried so hard to let it go

Been living through this freak show

Need a break from what I’ve seen

I couldn’t understand from the start

You’re not always meant to be right

I forgot the meaning of the fight

But mama’s always on my mind

So here we go
