Cat makes the rules, the mouse breaks em

Cat makes a move the mouse shakes him

This is no game of chess,

cause no-one wins it's just about the adulation

of finesse

and on and on and on it goes 'til

nobody is left to play

Someone thinks they've got the right

through all available outer insight

So they break the rules

and get what they want at the expense

of the other fools

They'll never be the one to spill

that their cheat brought down the whole game

Two people can agree

Three maybe not

Four will never see the same bet

when looking at the pot

Most never compromise

what they think is their authority

So it just builds the arms race

and distracts from the priorities

It's so obviously a trap

when it could be a garden

We broke our backs

lifting our bad ideas up to heaven

and all we got was this empty yard

This is no place for animals or children

If that's not what you wanted

then what?
