Strong Start

I- I'm q-quite happy really, 'Cause linger was like our first ever song Like three days after we met Dolores W-we had the music for it, we just put it in tape and then three days after we met her she came back with the lyrics and that was the song So that was our very first ever song so that's really nice That's a compliment, that's really special for us Before dolores joined the band We, the 3 of us were just playing on our own Well there used to be a guy singin' with us for a few weeks, just for a bit of experience Y'know we did a gig or two with him What it was and what we wanted so Noel used to write bits and pieces of music on the guitar and bring them in to us and we'd start playing along So we had loads of instrumental stuff But we had no lyrics or um focus or anything When Dolores joined we like put a few things in tape And she went away and wrote the lyrics and the melodies and came back And that was basically how we did it at the start But now she writes some stuff as well on the guitar, and Noel as well so you got music coming from two sides So it's great, there's more of a broader scope I said that once we have it recorded And we get an actual arc strengh to play it, so we got like an eight piece arc It was nice, it was really nice, it was special Yeah it's just it's because it's our first song it's kind of the one that's most special I don't know, I don't think it's fair for me to say it Because y'know I'm not the one who writes the lyrics and Dolores is and she doesn't really like talking about- You known it's the same as a poet and writing a poem He doesn't like explaining what it's about It's up to the listener themselves to pick up on what it is about So y'know I thinks it's better that way because if I said something it might change somebody else's view And they might've said "Oh was that what it's about? I thought it was about something else" So it's not fair really it's- Let them decide themselves I think it's something that people can relate to y'know I mean it's a said song about lost love Y'know that's basically an outline A lot of people have been through that So it's just basically who can relate to that
