Little Simz machte sich mit toughen, atemlosen Raps einen Namen in der Hip-Hop-Szene, zu ihren Einflüssen zählt sie Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes und Lauryn Hill. Die 1994 als Simbiatu Ajikawo in London geborene Musikerin veröffentlichte ab 2010 mehrere Mixtapes, nebenbei war sie als Schauspielerin zu sehen, u.a. in der BBC-Serie Spirit Warriors. 2015 erschien über ihr Eigenlabel Age 101 das Konzeptalbum A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons, 2016 folgte ihr zweites Album Stillness in Wonderland, das in Verbindung mit einem Comic, einer Kunstausstellung und einem Festival herauskam. Nach Grey Area (2019) kam ihr Durchbruch mit dem vierten Album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert (2021), das mit seinen Soul-beeinflussten Sounds Platz 4 der UK-Charts erreichte.
