Die australische Band The Wiggles baute eine Reihe erfolgreicher Kinder-Popsongs zu einer weltweiten Marke aus. Gegründet wurde die Band von den Vorschulpädagogik-Studenten Anthony Field und Jeff Fatt, die zusammen in der Rockband The Cockroaches gespielt hatten, und einigen Kommilitonen. Schon ihr 1991 veröffentlichtes selbstbetiteltes Debütalbum wurde mit Platin ausgezeichnet, und bald folgten nicht nur zahlreiche weitere Platten und Tourneen, sondern auch ein Wiggles-Film und eine Wiggles-Serie. Der Erfolg weitete sich Richtung Amerika, Asien und Lateinamerika aus, in Australien gibt es sogar Wiggles-Vergnügungsparks. Die Gruppe gewann zahlreiche ARIA-Preise für das beste Kinderalbum, 2011 kam sie in die ARIA Hall of Fame. 2012 zogen sich Fields Mitmusiker vom Tourgeschehen zurück, und er machte mit neuer Besetzung weiter. 2019 veröffentlichte die produktive Gruppe mit Party Time! ihr 53. Studioalbum.
