About Tate McRae

Artist Biography

Die Kanadierin Tate McRae eroberte mit innigem Alternative-Pop zwischen lebendigen Dance-Nummern und emotionalen Balladen die Charts. Die 2003 in Calgary geborene Sängerin nahm mit sechs Jahren Tanzunterricht (ihre Mutter leitet eine Tanzschule) und startete mit acht einen YouTube-Kanal. Als Nachwuchstalent nahm sie an zahlreichen Wettbewerben teil und war 2016 auch in der Fox-Castingshow So You Think You Can Dance zu sehen. Ab 2017 schrieb sie auch eigene Songs und landete mit dem Video von "One Day" einen viralen Hit. Weitere Lieder folgten, 2020 erschien McRaes Debüt-EP All the Things I Never Said. 2021 folgte die EP Too Young to Be Sad, deren Single "You Broke Me First" zum internationalen Hit wurde. Im Mai 2022 präsentierte McRae ihr Debütalbum I Used to Think I Could Fly.
