Eigentlich begannen PVRIS (ausgesprochen wie das englische "Paris") als Metalcore-Band unter dem Namen Operation Guillotine, aber dann änderte die Gruppe ihren Sound zu einer Mischung aus stimmungsvollem Elektro-Pop und düsterem Alternative-Rock. Neben Frontfrau Lyndsey Gunnulfsen besteht die Band aus Gitarrist Alex Babinski, zuvor in I Am the Fallen, und Bassist Brian MacDonald. Nach einer 2013 veröffentlichten Debüt-EP erschien Ende 2014 das Debütalbum White Noise. Die Band tourte ausgiebig (unter anderem mit Fall Out Boy) und startete 2016 ihre erste Headliner-Tour, zu der ihr Album auch nochmal als "Deluxe Edition" mit der neuen Single "You and I" und elf Musikvideos veröffentlicht wurde. 2017 folgte das zweite Album All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell mit den Singles "Heaven", "What's Wrong" und "Anyone Else".
