• Kelly Clarkson lernte in ihrer Kindheit Klavier und Geige und arbeitete nach der Highschool kurzzeitig mit Songwriter Gerry Goffin (Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross) zusammen.
• Als Goffin erkrankte und ein Brand ihre Wohnung verwüstete, hielt sie sich mit kleineren Jobs in der Musik- und Medienbranche über Wasser – bis sie das neuartige Casting-Format „American Idol“ entdeckte.
• 2002 gewann die 1982 in Texas geborene Sängerin die erste Staffel von „American Idol“, während ihre erste Single „A Moment Like This“ (Platz 1 in den USA) ihren Aufstieg und ihren persönlichen Ehrgeiz perfekt in Worte fasst.
• Clarkson frönte zwischenzeitlich auch ihrer zweiten Leidenschaft, der Schauspielerei: 2003 spielte sie die Hauptrolle in dem Film „Justin & Kelly: Beachparty der Liebe“.
• Mit Erfolgen wie „Since U Been Gone“ (2004) – Ausgangspunkt ihrer Karriere in Europa – und „Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)“ aus dem Jahre 2011 erreichte sie zunehmend ihre musikalische Unabhängigkeit.
• Das Album „Meaning of Life“ (2017) galt als ihr bis dahin selbstbewusstestes und temperamentvollstes Statement, aus dem auch ihr Gospel-House-Hit „Heat“ hervorging.
