Mit ihrer eingängigen Mischung aus Symphonic und Power Metal erinnert die österreichische Metalband Visions of Atlantis an Vorbilder wie Nightwish oder Within Temptation. Die Gruppe startete 2000 rund um die Sänger Christian Stani und Nicole Bogner, das Debütalbum Eternal Endless Infinity erschien 2002 – und schon begannen ständige Wechsel in der Besetzungsliste; über die Jahre blieb nur Drummer Thomas Caser als Gründungsmitglied eine Konstante. Mit Sänger Mario Plank entstanden die Platten Cast Away (2004, mit Bogner), Trinity (2007, mit Sängerin Melissa Ferlaak), Delta (2011) und Ethera (2013, beide mit Sängerin Maxi Nil). The Deep & the Dark entstand 2018 mit Sänger Siegfried Samer und Sängerin Clémentine Delauney. Wanderers (2019) mit Delauney und Michele Guiatoli war der erste deutsche Top-40-Erfolg der Band, Pirates (2022) kam in derselben Besetzung in die Top 20.
